BREAKFAST RIDES

With our club members living quite far away from each other, something taken for granted by most clubs (like the breakfast ride), takes special organization. To explain a bit: El P, our prez, stays in Dullstroom with his lovely wife the Gutter Queen, Rasta Rat and Polish Rat stay in Verwoerdburg (Centurion for the PC wankers), Dented Rat stays in Pretoria East, and Dean Rodent stays in or around Kempton Park. That's the easy ones. Sean is in Canada, Steve in the UK and Nicky in China. So, the chances of waking up and having a nice breakfast ride on the spur of the moment and actually getting more than two club members to join you are pretty slim at the best of times.

Which brings me to the story:

A while ago (Early July 2001) we managed to get, wait for it, 5 Gutter Rats together, for a breakfast ride to the Zonked Guineyfoul bar, which is in a tiny place called Tierpoort, east of Pretoria. We were joined by some other bikies (Malte on his new BMW R1100R, Eugene Fireblade and Ferdi from The Undertakers). Unfortunately Dean and Grant Rodent woosed out. We met in Pretoria East and shot through to Zonked Guineyfoul. The ride was shorter than usual, probably because previous rides to the same spot have been punctuated with broken down and/or slow bikes. A couple of beers and a breakfast which got cold pretty fast (as outdoor eats do in the middle of winter) and a lot of fun was had by all.
